Not all backup and disaster recovery plans are created equally. We help organizations in Thomasville, Cairo, Bainbridge, Moultire, and South Georgia implement customized backup solutions that fit their budget and recovery needs. Our typical recommendations include both an on-site solution and an off-site solution:
Off-Site Backup:
Why use off-site backup? With traditional backup tapes statistically having nearly a 90% failure rate between user error and physical failure the next best alternative is backup using hard drives. The problem with hard drives is that they must be plugged in all of the time like the computers, which makes them susceptible to lightning/surge failure, physical failure, and failure due to natural disaster.
While the speed of using hard drives cannot be beat, an off-site backup eliminates the chances of simultaneous physical failure due to lightning/surge failure, physical failure, and failure due to natural disaster.
Our off-site backup service goes one up on our competition by being backed up to multiple geographically seperate locations on different backup servers. Data is fully encrypted at every point in the backup process.
When you have a disaster and need your data back right now, you can get it back without an issue. That's piece of mind your business can't live without. Best of all, your off-site backup is included with On Call-Complete™
On-Site Backup
While off-site backup is a necessity for any business, having a good on-site backup is even more crucial. We have found that having both an on-site and off-site backup solution creates an ideal scenario of multiple backups combined with the ability to restore very quickly from an on-site backup in the event of deleted files or non-natural disaster related physical failure. Our on-site backup system includes both the hard drive and specialized backup software based on your company's needs. Both the hardware and software come at an additional price, however setup is included with your monthly service agreement and is recommended for all companies regardless of size.
President Michael A. Frieder along with Vice President Zachary J. Brewer recently attended the Greater Tallahassee Area Annual Chamber Conference in Destin, FL. where community leaders from across North Florida and South Georgia came together to discuss the future of both the community as a whole and the business climate of our area. Conference attendees included a great combination of local and regional politicians, business leaders, universities, and non-profits.
"The conference was an excellent experience for us to network with local politicians and extend a hand to non-profits alike." said Frieder. VP Brewer had this to say: "We really enjoyed getting a chance to communicate both with the local universities and the other top businesses in the room. We are especially excited about the conversion of the local airport to an international airport and the presence of several great engineering and construction firms at the event. I think this shows that building in Tallahassee is not dead and that is very important for our local economy."
On Call was asked in 2011 to begin helping a small non-profit in the Tallahassee area. We began by assesing their current outdated technology and completing a full discovery analysis of where the non-profit wanted to go in the future and what they needed to get there.
On Call was then able to donate a complete server that had be refurbished through our computers for charity program and fully licensed by Microsoft through our Partner Program. All initial installation labor was donated in this special case and a reduced rate On Call-Complete™ IT Management plan was implemented including an array of cloud solutions which allowed the orgnaization to not have to purchase an additional server and save money on overall long term cost of ownership.
All told, the organization reduced it's technology operating budget by $30,000 in fiscal year 2010 which has allowed them to hire on a new full time fully benefited position on a permanent basis.
